Standard Disclaimers & Policies
Last updated: 14 October 2026
LevelUp Kids ("we", "us", "the app") is a family app at levelup.kids that helps parents set routines and rewards for their children and follow their progress. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms and policies. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Terms of Use
Who can create an account
- Only adults (18 or older) who are a parent or legal guardian can create a parent account.
- Children never sign up by themselves. A parent adds each child, and a parent creates and controls any kid-mode PIN or teen login. The parent is responsible for how their children use the app.
- You must give accurate information and keep your password, parent PIN and kid PINs private. You are responsible for everything done through your account and the devices you set up for kid mode.
Acceptable use
- Use the app only to manage your own family. Do not add children you are not responsible for.
- Do not upload content that is illegal, hateful, sexual, violent or that exposes another person's private information. Photos of children are for your family only.
- Do not try to access other families' data, break or overload the service, or get around its security.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we may report illegal content to the authorities.
The service
- The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running and secure, but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free or that data can never be lost. Keep your own records of anything important.
- We may change, add or remove features. We will announce important changes in the app.
- You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (see section 3).
2. Privacy Policy
We collect only what the app needs to work, we do not sell personal data, we show no advertising and we use no third-party tracking or analytics.
What we store
- Parent account: name, email address, optional mobile number, a securely hashed password (we cannot read it), and your notification preferences.
- Children: first name, date of birth (used only to choose the right age band), an optional photo, the routines and tasks you assign, ticks, day ratings, behaviors, points, levels and badges.
- Teen accounts: a username or email and a hashed password created by the parent. Teen notes are encrypted and are visible to parents only if the teen chooses to share them.
- Devices: a secure token for each device a parent sets up for kid mode, and, if you turn on notifications, the push subscription your browser gives us.
- Technical data: security and error logs (for example IP address, browser type and time of a failed login), kept for a short time to protect accounts and fix problems.
How we use it
- To run the app: show routines, award points and levels, handle approvals, send the notifications you choose (for example the weekly summary).
- To keep accounts safe: login protection, limits on repeated attempts, and investigating abuse.
- We do not use your family's data for advertising, profiling or selling, and we never contact your children for marketing.
Children's privacy
- Children's information is added and controlled by their parent, who gives consent on their behalf.
- Children's photos are stored privately and are shown only to their own family. Other families cannot see your children.
- Kid mode works only on devices a parent has set up, and children can only see and update their own page.
Who can see your data
- Your family: you, and the children you add (each child sees only their own page).
- Our hosting provider, which stores the data on secured servers on our behalf. Data may be stored outside your country.
- Push notifications pass through your browser's push service (for example Google or Apple) in encrypted form.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
Security
The app uses HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords and PINs, private storage for photos, protection against repeated login attempts, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong password and keep your devices locked.
Keeping and deleting data
- We keep your family's data while your account is active.
- You can delete a child from the app at any time. To delete your whole account and all your children's data, contact us (see section 6); we will do it within 30 days. Copies in backups are removed when those backups expire.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example Lebanese Law No. 81/2018 or the EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to some uses. Contact us to use these rights.
3. Cookies
We use only cookies that the app needs to work:
- a session cookie that keeps you logged in;
- a security cookie that protects forms against forgery;
- a kid-mode device cookie on devices a parent has set up for kid mode.
We use no advertising or tracking cookies. The installed app also keeps the app's files on your device so it starts quickly and can show an offline page.
4. Disclaimer
- LevelUp Kids is a family organisation and motivation tool. It is not medical, psychological, educational or professional advice. Points, levels, ratings and suggested routines are for encouragement only and are not an assessment of your child.
- Routine and behavior templates are general suggestions. You decide what is suitable and safe for your own children.
- If you have concerns about your child's health, development, behavior or wellbeing, please talk to a qualified professional.
- Rewards and privileges you promise your children are agreements within your family; we are not responsible for them.
- To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from use of the app.
5. Changes to these policies
We may update these policies. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policies.
